DENMARK: TDC TO LEAVE BELGIUM AFTER TELECOMS MERGER?

The anticipated merger between Belgacom and Dutch KPN is expected to result in TDC leaving the Belgian market. According to telecoms analyst John Strand, it will be to the benefit of TDC's shareholders to sell its operations in Belgium. TDC, SBC and Singapore Telecom own about 50% of Belgacom.

DENMARK: TELECOM PRICES TO BE LOWERED
Article Abstract:
Telestyrelsen, The Danish National Telecommunication Board, has decided to lower the prices of telephone calls by 4% each year, including this year, until 2005. The major telecom operator Tele Danmark says the decision will weaken the flexibility of the market.
