SOL TO LAUNCH NET SERVICES IN ANDHRA
Article Abstract:
Southern Online Services Pvt Ltd has got a category B licence for providing Internet services in Andhra Pradesh. The company has entered into an agreement with the department of telecommunications and will launch its service in Hyderabad and Secunderabad sometime in the middle of January 1999 and expand its services to other major districts by the end of February 1999. The company plans to invest Rs3 crore in setting up the required infrastructure in the two cities. (khr)

WORLD ONLINE LAUNCHES GLOBALNOISE

The Atlanta-based World Online Inc has launched GlobalNOISE, a network that provides a website for Indian software engineers. The site is being supported by Capricorn Systems Inc of Atlanta and Softpro Systems Pvt Ltd of Hyderabad will maintain the site. The website will allow Indian software engineers to interact and share their ideas. GlobalNOISE also provides free e-mail chat services, bulletin boards and discounts on services from merchants. (gs)
