SIPM PLANS TO DOUBLE CAPACITY

Article Abstract:

The South India Paper Mills Limited (SIPML) is planning to double its capacity from the present 69 tonnes per day. It is likely to increase capacity of its co-generation plant also from the present 2.7 mw to 5 mw. The expansion programme is likely to cost Rs35 crore and will be completed before September 2000. It plans to set up a facility to manufacture 800 tonnes of newsprint per month. It manufactures packaging grade paper, writing paper and newsprint. It has posted sales of Rs23.97 crore for the nine months ended December 31, 1998 compared to Rs23.78 crore for nine months ended December 31, 1997. (rk)(psr)

COKE PLANS TO PUT 50% BOTTLERS IN ITS CRATE

Article Abstract:

Coca-Cola India (CCI) makes soft drinks. It aims to have 50 percent of the bottlers by the beginning 1999. It has already acquired several bottling plants in India. CCI plans to invest up to $700 million by the year 2002 for widening its bottling and distribution operations in India. It will invest around Rs1,160 crore in the capital of its 4 downstream ventures - Coca-Cola Bottling North-East Pvt Ltd, Hindustan Coca-Cola Bottling North-West Pvt Ltd, Bharat Coca-Cola South-East Pvt Ltd and Bharat Coca-Cola South-West Pvt Ltd.
