Questions surround Thai-Asia Fund

Article Abstract:

Many analysts have noted the discounted price being offered for Thai-Asia Fund Ltd. and some believe that the 35% discount to its net asset value makes it a good buy for investors. However, investors should also be cautious as profits on such discounted funds can turn out to be a long drawn-out process with little prospect of immediate gain. Shareholders are engaged in a debate over whether to eliminate the discount.

Australian mutual expects recovery in local stocks

Article Abstract:

Australian Mutual Provident Society (AMP) is optimistic about Australian shares for 1995. AMP had trimmed Australian stocks from 45% and 23% in international shares in 1993 to 41% and 17% in 1994, respectively. AMP accounts for her optimism to the robust Australian economy despite its slow economic growth. However, inflationary pressures could affect stock market investors' decisions.
