Manjula Padmanabhan, 41, Indian cartoonist is an enduringly, girlish recluse and her current passion is for Zinc plate etchings. In 1997 her play "Harvest" won the lucrative first prize in the Onassis International cultural competition prize for theater and then was made into film, her semi-autobiographical novel "Getting There" was published in 2000 and kleptomania, a book of short stories was published this year 2004, and Suki was her famous cartoon character.

South Korea's famous cartoonist Kim Song Hwan, 71 is among four Asian famous cartoonists is extolled as a trailblazer in the history of Korean cartooning. Detained by police, harassed by censors and reviled by the politicians, he satirized, Kim paved the way for an era of greater editorial and artistic freedom and he never bowed to power, remained faithful to his belief.
