On her toes

Article Abstract:

Chinese-born Canadian ballerina Chan Hon Goh is aware that her parents, who were both professional dancers, were keen for her not to take up dancing. She moved to Vancouver, Canada, with her family at the age of eight, and did not really begin training seriously as a dancer until the age of 12. She joined the National Ballet of Canada in 1988, and became a principal dancer in 1994. She has to accept criticism from family members, but they acknowledge that she has achieved a great deal.

Catching the surf

Article Abstract:

Internet advertising is beginning to establish a strong presence in Asia. Some observers believe that there will be 100 million Internet users in Asia by 2004, many of whom will be young and wealthy. This means that advertisers can no longer afford to ignore the Internet. Large Internet advertisers have so far mainly been multinational companies and technology concerns. However, this is expected to change as the number of Internet users rises.
