The Labour continues to be popular in the UK and is expected to win a local by-election in Uxbrige, traditionally a Conservative stronghold. Many are beginning to believe that the Labour Party may not suffer the mid-term slump in popularity that every ruling party has gone through since 1951.

Waking the Welsh dragon

Article Abstract:

Labor Party leader Tony Blair has pledged devolution referendums in Scotland and Wales, even though they are opposed by the Conservatives. Wales has always voted for Labor, but has been ruled by a Conservative majority. Even so, the Welsh have not pressed for a devolution vote.
