Deutsche Telekom sees uneasy growth

Deutsche Telekom AG of Germany posted a second quarter net profit slide by 14 percent to 1.01 billion Euros as revenue increased 2.6 percent to 15.13 billion Euros. Turnaround strategy that included a year of heavy investments in 2006 is being reexamined. Competition in the telecommunications market is fierce even in the home market of Germany.

ProSieben holders to sell stake in private buyout

ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG of Germany is to be acquired by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. of the United States with Permira of the United Kingdom. The bid offer for the German television broadcaster is valued at slightly less than 6 billion Euros (about $8 billion).

ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG of Germany has decided against divestment. The premier television broadcaster estimates revenue is up 18 percent to 636 million Euros ($756.5 million) for the fourth quarter from the previous year.
