GT Asia Warrant and Derivatives fund registered returns of over 35% for the year ended Jun 2, 1998, mainly due to its manager's parking of 10% of the company's assets in derivatives that perform particularly well when the Japanese yen drops. Though risky, the company's put-option strategy is paying off for the company. To counteract the tactic, the company's manager holds 38% of his investors' funds in cash.
