Investment banks protest procedure in Polish tender

Article Abstract:

The article discusses the situation with the four investment banks that were not selected by Poland's Treasury Ministry to advise on the secondary public offering of Telekomunikacja Polska SA. The banks have lodged complaints against the government and its selection process. The formal protests were made by Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, a consortium of ING Barings, United Bank of Switzerland, and Bank Slaski, and a group comprised of Deutsche Bank AG, Bank Pekao S.A., and HSBC Holding PLC.

Babcock and Brown leads group buying big stake in U.S. pipeline

Article Abstract:

UK-based investment firm Babcock & Brown Ltd. is managing a consortium led by its Babcock & Brown Infrastructure unit in the purchase of an 80% stake of US gas pipeline firm MidCon. The price was not disclosed, but the enterprise value is estimated at $6.6 bil. With a 32% stake, BBI is the biggest owner of the consortium; Babcock & Brown Ltd. will have a 4.8% stake.

Wood & Co. will close office in Ukrainian capital
