Article Abstract:

There is concern among public health experts in the US that the number of conventional autopsies is dropping. Autopsies have a number of uses such as revealing new diseases, helping medical students to learn, and assessing whether surgery and drug treatments have been effective. Autopsies can be expensive, may be opposed by relatives, and may also not be recommended by physicians who are afraid that possible mistakes could be uncovered. Autopsy/Post Services is a company set up by Vidal Herrera which will provide autopsies for a fee.
