Discord seen within ING on strategy

Article Abstract:

ING Groep NV is generating conflict at its ING Barings division brought about by its attempts to enhance its corporate-finance operations in Europe. ING Barings' former CEO, Arjun Mathrani, who resigned recently, stated that he stepped down from his position due to major differences with ING Groep regarding management issues on the formation of investment-banking operations in Western Europe. The conflict started when ING Groep decided to consolidate the skills of its newly-purchased Banque Bruxelles and ING Barings, which is ING Groep's investment-banking subsidiary in London, UK.
