Domestic appliances and consumer electronics in Belgium

Article Abstract:

In 1998, Belgian production of domestic appliances was valued at 12.6 billion Belgian Francs (BFr) representing a 2.3% increase on 1997. Consumer spending continued rising in 1998, following 7% growth in 1997 to BFr56.6 billion. Washing machines, refrigerators and freezers, tumble dryers and dishwashers all performed well. An overview of key trends is given, along with market data by product type, and forecasts for the future.
