Dubai firm buys medical company from Bridgepoint

Dubai International Capital L.L.C. has bought Alliance Medical Holdings Ltd. from UK private equity company Bridgepoint Capital Group Ltd. for $1.25 bil. Under Bridgepoint ownership, Alliance's revenue rose and its territory expanded from the UK to other regions including the Netherlands, Germany, and Italy, with staff increasing from 177 to 690.

Phonak to buy hearing-aid maker ReSound for $2.64 billion

Phonak Holding AG, a Swiss hearing-aid manufacturer, plans to acquire the Danish company ReSound for $2.64 billion. This acquisition will make Phonak the largest hearing-aid company in the world, with approximately 36% global market share .

Equity firm pays $1.24 billion for BSN Medical

Article Abstract:

BSN Medical a British/German joint venture has been sold to Montagu Private Equity for 103 billion Euros ($1.24 billion). BSN Medical is an orthopedics supply house. Parent company Smith & Nephew will use it's proceeds to repay debt.
