German venture capital firm Deutsche Beteiligungs AG (DBAG) is one of the industry leaders in 1998, with investments of 259 million pounds sterling and total capital funds of 345 million pound sterling. The main focus of DBAG's work is management buy-ins and buyouts which produce up to 35 million pounds sterling worth of sales each year. DBAG has interests both domestically and internationally, dealing through a network of international partners throughout the world.

VCs - fit for the millenium?

Article Abstract:

Many business people in the UK believe that venture capital companies, particularly the larger funds, take insufficient or inappropriate risks. The industry's success means that there has been no desire for change but such a position is undesirable and unsustainable. Many venture capital firms have limited industrial experience, in contrast to the US where most venture capitalists are former industrialists and entrepreneurs.
