G-networks with multiple classes of signals and positive customers

Article Abstract:

A new type of G-networks, also called queueing models, was considered in which customers can either assume the role of signal or positive customers. Positive customers are those normally found in queueing systems while signals include negative and trigger customers that usually destruct ordinary or positive customers. The new queueing networks are found to be capable in generating a product form solution provided that sufficient assumptions on service times, service disciplines and triggering or destruction rules on the aspect of signals are observed.

Biologically inspired operations research

Article Abstract:

The increasing role of fundamental biological paradigms in systems modeling and operations research is illustrated through presentation of six works related to artificial neural networks and autonomous search and navigation. Works on neural networks tackle a wide array of issues ranging from communication system modeling to Steiner problem heuristics. Meanwhile, works on autonomous search tackle the creation of a new group of autonomous strategies through integration of a genetic algorithm.
