Dynamic promotional budgeting and media allocation

Article Abstract:

An extension of the Lanchester model may be effectively used to solve resource allocation in promotional budgets within a competitive framework. The model is proven to be a global Nash equilibrium that may be applied to both open- and closed-loop strategies with the proportion of allocated budget invariant with time and dependent only on the effectiveness of the instrument.

Assignment of job load in a distributed system: a multicriteria design method

Article Abstract:

A two-phase method has been developed for achieving optimum job load assignment in computer, telecommunication and manufacturing systems. The method employs three design objectives to assign load interactively, namely, system time, operating costs and job availability. Its reliability has been validated using a nonlinear programming technique.
