ECB may rotate council members

Article Abstract:

The European Central Bank may rotate voting policy-making committee members as more countries join the European Union. The bank's governing council consists of 18 people but there is concern about the difficulties of having a council of as many as 30 people making decisions. There is also concern about not including a member from each European Union country.

Pragmatism will be key to Trichet's term at ECB

Article Abstract:

The nominee for the presidency of the European Central Bank, Jean-Claude Trichet, plans to rely on a realistic and pragmatic approach when it comes to running the bank. Trichet wants to refute claims that the ECB is focusing on inflation at the expense of economic growth.
