EU's hard lesson for a China brand

Article Abstract:

The joint venture of China Euro Services of Belgium and the Great Power Battery Co. of China has seen problems with marketing with first year European sales of batteries at 200,000 Euros, short of financial projections of 500,000 Euros. Chief Executive Officer Baudouin Snel of China Euro Services says the Chinese are great at production but do not understand how to develop a brand. Vice President Zeng Jian Ping of Great Power Battery Co. complains that the Belgians take too many holidays.

EU to get tougher on China trade: strategy shift aims to quell protectionist sentiment, strengthen hand at table

The European Commission is changing its strategy as it renegotiates its trade agreement with China, in an effort to encourage China to end its protectionist attitude. The European Union may impose antidumping duties if China refuses to comply.
