Eschewing tobacco

Article Abstract:

The Supreme Court's recent decision provided clear guidelines on advertising for tobacco companies. The ruling delimits where and what to advertise such as prohibiting linking smoking in any way to youthfulness and lifestyle in advertisements. Some newspaper publishers have policies against accepting this type of advertising.

Tobacco's next road

Article Abstract:

Tobacco companies, including Imperial Tobacco Canada, will experience more difficulties in building consumer awareness as provinces ban in-store displays for cigarettes. Imperial is also studying whether snus will be profitable in the Canadian market. Forecasts for the Canadian tobacco market are supplied.
