Eurobond market awaits KfW's deal

Article Abstract:

Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau's (KfW) offering of a $1-billion five-year bond on Nov. 12, 1998, is closely being watched by the bond markets in the US and Europe. The state development bank in Germany bank has also tapped the services of Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and ABN Amro to lead manage the offering. The bond issue is part of KfW's strategy of filling out the yield curve with "superliquid" benchmark bonds that are comparable credit quality and provide higher returns than German government bonds.
