Exxon loses U.K. ruling in fight with Venezuela

Article Abstract:

Pending resolution of Exxon Mobil Corp.'s lawsuit against the government of Venezuela over losses due to the nationalization of its oil projects, state-owned oil company Petroleos de Venezuela's assets in the United Kingdom had been frozen. Claiming no jurisdiction, a U.K. court orders the lifting of the ban on Venezuelan assets and Exxon Mobil to pay Petroleos de Venezuela $763,052 to cover legal fees.

Santos draws deal talk amid review of cap

The Australian government has agreed to examine a 15% ownership limitation for oil and gas producer Santos Ltd., which has launched takeover speculation . Santos officials have been lobbying the government to lift the cap on the $5.81 bil company.
