Facing enhanced rivalry

Article Abstract:

Telekom Malaysia Bhd. is still preparing itself for the entry of competing firms into the fixed-line telephone portion of the Malaysian telecommunications market. Financial analysts pointed out that the billing error that was made by the company in April 1998 indicated that its preparatory efforts still had weaknesses. Telekom is in the midst of efforts in trying to prepare for the liberalization of the Malaysian fixed-line phone market on January 1, 1999. The liberalization will grant other firms equal access to the phone grid of Telekom and this will allow them to broaden their phone grids.

China mourns over its puppet journalists...

Article Abstract:

The evolution of biased journalism in China has not only created a negative connotation on mass media, but has also contributed to the political violence in the country as well. Through the relentless efforts of unjust journalists to discourage Western culture, a majority of the Chinese population have been taught to despise foreign policies. Some have even used the Chinese Embassy bombing in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, to express their anger over US and NATO officials.
