Article Abstract:

Czech Republic: The Phare programme of the European Union will provide the Czech Republic with EUR 84.4 mil in 2001. EUR 65.4 mil are intended for the National Programme. EUR 9 mil of the sum are intended for infrastructural projects for the support of business in Northwest Bohemia and North Moravia. Another nearly EUR 4 mil should be used for the development of industrial zones and the development of innovations, EUR 19 mil for cross-border co-operation. The EU has also set up two new programmes, ISPA and SEPARAD. The programme ISPA is intended for the support of infrastructure, transport and the environment. The Czech Republic can utilize about EUR 72 mil from the programme ISPA. From the programme SEPARAD, it can draw EUR 22 mil per year. Two thirds of the sum are intended for agriculture and the rest for the development of the country. The National Programme Phare 2000 will be realized at present. Tenders for the realization of projects worth a total of EUR 59 mil will be declared in Jun 2001.

PSJ Holding (PSJH) (Jihlava, Czech Republic), construction group, expects total revenues of CEK 2.2 bil for 2000. PSJH saw audited revenues of CEK 1.7 bil in 1999. According to the level of the 2000 revenues, PSJH is one of the 10 largest domestic construction firms. All the group underwent consolidation in 2000.
