Football below the equator

Article Abstract:

The travel, retail, manufacturing and broadcasting industries are preparing for the Tri-Nations rugby tournament. The Tri-Nations test matches are considered the best rugby matches south of the equator and will be played by the Australian Wallabies, New Zealand All-Blacks and South Africa Springbok teams. Travel agencies are busy with bookings for the matches, which have gained popularity in recent years. A comprehensive Tri-Nations travel package can cost NZ$8,250, which takes the customer to all the test matches in the three countries and includes tickets, lodgings and tour packages.

The Ramos legacy: stability, reform

Article Abstract:

Outgoing Philippine President Fidel Ramos leaves behind a legacy of stability and reform as his term of office ends on Jun 30, 1998. Political stability served as President Ramos's major contribution, a huge achievement in a nation once governed by the cronies of former Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos. Under his term, the Philippines joined the World Trade Organization and monopolies in agriculture and telecommunications were demolished.
