The travel, retail, manufacturing and broadcasting industries are preparing for the Tri-Nations rugby tournament. The Tri-Nations test matches are considered the best rugby matches south of the equator and will be played by the Australian Wallabies, New Zealand All-Blacks and South Africa Springbok teams. Travel agencies are busy with bookings for the matches, which have gained popularity in recent years. Under his term, the Philippines joined the World Trade Organization and monopolies in agriculture and telecommunications were demolished.
