Foreign advertising firms grapple with China chaos

Article Abstract:

The enormous potential of the Chinese market continues to attract foreign firms to the country despite the many challenging difficulties typically encountered. However, these advertising agencies have no plans of pulling out and they just cope with the difficulties in anticipation of China's emergence as one of the world's biggest advertising markets.

Global advertising firms take localized approach

Article Abstract:

Many international advertising agencies such as Ogilvy and Mather, McCann-Erickson and Saatchi and Saatchi are establishing more offices in Southeast Asia and China. The emphasis on establishing more offices stems from the realization that individual regional headquarters can no longer handle the needs of the region. At present, Singapore remains the main regional hub of most international advertising agencies. However, rising labor costs and a small local market may force many agencies to move their headquarters out of Singapore.
