This article discusses the new position of Alex Arena as group managing director of Hong Kong's Pacific Century CyberWorks Ltd. Mr. Arena's job in a company driving for Internet dominance is considered a reversal of roles since he was in his native Australia and Hong Kong a civil servant charged with bringing competition to the telecommunications industry.

Telstra venture with CyberWorks details financing

Pacific Century CyberWorks Ltd. and Telstra Corp. will receive a syndicated loan of $2 billion (2.33 billion euros) for their Internet-protocol venture. The loan's lead managers will be Barclays Bank and Chase Manhattan Bank.
