French fry king McCain rolls out pan-Euro 'new age' drink

Article Abstract:

Frozen food marketer McCain Foods of Canada is introducing the Colorado brand of iced tea aimed at young adults and teenagers. Colorado is the company's first diverse pan-European product launch. The product will be available in Greece, France and the Benelux countries in 1995 and in Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom in 1996. Colorado will take precedence over McCain's other drinks brands in Belgium and France, with the other brands possibly to be phased out in the long term.

Boycott of French products gathers steam in northern Europe

Article Abstract:

Scandinavian retailers are boycotting French products in response to the French government's decision to restart nuclear testing in the South Pacific. Eight commercial music and news radio stations in Norway have banned ads for French products. Norwegian soccer star Lars Bhinen withdrew from a recent Norway vs France game. Restaurant and retailing associations in Sweden have also stopped buying and selling French products.

Nuke tests inspire boycotts of French products

Article Abstract:

The decision to restart underground testing of nuclear bombs in French Polynesia has been met with consumer boycotts from a variety of countries including Norway, New Zealand, and Australia. Saatchi & Saatchi Australia has produced ads which oppose French President Jacques Chirac's decision. Products which are expected to be affected by the boycott include foods, cosmetics and wines.
