Booth-Clibborn reign is over

Article Abstract:

Anthony Simonds-Gooding has replaced Edward Booth-Clibborn as chairman of the Design and Art Direction (D&AD) association of advertising creatives, film-makers and designers. Simonds-Gooding, former head of the international operations of Saatchi & Saatchi, has sought ideas to raise the design profile of the association such as via exhibitions and design conferences. He aims to repair the rift between designers and the D&AD. Booth-Clibborn, who had been chairman for 29 years but was suspended following internal investigations, is outraged by the way he has been forced to leave.

Yoginder K. Alagh, Indian Union Minister of State of Power Science and Technology, says that the Indian government is committed to developing the technological capacity of the country through economic policy. Alagh added that the government is offering incentives to companies and individuals and that would hopefully translate to great improvements in science and technology.

Advertising supported cable television has a bright outlook for 1984. Advertising agencies are reporting increasing expenditures in cable television. Actual ad revenue for cable is questioned by industry observers. Cable market penetration is on the increase.
