Wanger Asset Management L.P. is expanding its European operations through a joint venture. Wanger will offer its New America Small Caps fund through the Paris based distribution network of Banque du Louvre. The fund will invest in small and mid cap U.S. stocks.

Dresdner, BNP end some ventures

Dresdner Bank AG plans to terminate all Eastern European joint ventures with partner BNP-Paribas. The company is taking this action because of competitive conflicts that have arisen since Paribas merged with Banque Nationale de Paris in 1999.
