IBM, Lenovo plan joint PC venture

Article Abstract:

International Business Machines Corp. (IBM) and China's Lenovo Group Ltd. are discussing the possibility of forming a joint venture. The new company would own IBM's personal computer business. If the deal goes ahead, Lenovo is expected to pay up to $2 billion for a majority share in the company.

SK Telecom commits $1 billion to Unicom

SK Telecom Co. of South Korea has agreed to an alliance with China Unicom Ltd. by committing $1 billion. The alliance gives the China telecommunications company expertise and financing to launch next-generation wireless telecommunications services.
