GEM IN JV WITH EUROPEAN COS

Article Abstract:

Ganapathy Engineering Manufacturers Pvt Ltd (GEM) of Coimbatore, a producer of medium voltage electrical application products, has started two joint ventures with European partners. It has set up Gem Euro Morsetti Pvt Ltd, a venture with Morsettitalia of Italy to manufacture Din Rail terminals and PCB terminals. The venture will have an investment of $0.33 million, with GEM holding a 51 percent stake and Morsettitalia holding a 49 percent stake. The Italian company will provide technical know-how, detailed plant specification, equipment and assistance in tooling to the venture. GEM has also tied-up with Telergon SA of Spain and floated a joint venture called Gem Telergon Switchgears Pvt Ltd, a $0.25 million project to manufacture switchgear products. GEM will hold a 56 percent stake in the venture while Telergon will hold a 44 percent stake. (khr)

NATELCO, US CO IN JV FOR ISP GATEWAYS

Article Abstract:

Loral Orion of the US has tied-up with the Natelco group of Mumbai to set up a joint venture called Orion-India Ltd, which will set up international gateways and offer high-speed Internet access to private Internet service providers and software development firms. Loral Orion will hold a 49 percent stake in the joint venture while Natelco will hold a 51 percent stake. (khr)
