Gameplay.com's shares soar 64% from IPO price

Article Abstract:

Gameplay.com PLC saw its share value increase by 64% in its first day of trading on the Alternative Investment Market. The UK-based online computer games firm saw its shares close at 221 pence (3.35 euros) higher compared to the IPO price. Gameplay's share price during its IPO reached 135 pence. The company has been valued at 88 million pound sterling as of August 2, 1999 closing price.

How banker's life, full of intrigue, ended in murder

French financier Edouard Stern of Lazard Brothers and Company Ltd., was murdered by his mistress Cecile Brossard in February of 2005. The tumultuous relationship came to a head when $1 million delivered to Ms. Brossard's bank account for a set of Chagall paintings was frozen by Mr. Stern.
