Go on, it's good for you

Article Abstract:

The US Food and Drug Administration eased its restrictions on television advertising of prescription pharmaceuticals in Aug 1997, and since then there has been a significant rise in direct-to-consumer advertising for prescription pharmaceuticals. This form of advertising has attracted strong interest from pharmaceutical concerns, even though it is not yet certain whether it will be financially worthwhile. Manufacturers are set to derive particular benefits from the patient data they are obtaining from calls to toll-free numbers and visits to websites.

Article Abstract:

The increase in class-action lawsuits filed against employers have been on an upward trend in the US and only two cases likely to provide clear distinction on class action suits and labor policy. A case filed against CITGO for racial discrimination and a case filed against Home Depot promises to clear grey areas in the interpretation of labor laws. The boom in employment litigation has complicated labor practices in the US and the two cases are likely to provide answers on definitions.
