Foreign foray

Article Abstract:

Indian watch manufacturer Titan has become the first Indian company to successfully establish a consumer brand on foreign markets. The company has been able to produce relatively inexpensive, high quality watches by using foreign technology and low production costs. It has also benefited from high-profile marketing work. It is already presenting strong competition for Japanese and Swiss watch manufacturers, and is now seeking a presence in the world jewellery market. It has been unusual among Indian companies in being aware of the requirements for being successful abroad.
