Goldman tussles with MacQuarie to buy AB Ports

An acquisition bidding war is on between groups led by Goldman Sachs Group Inc. of the United States and MacQuarie Bank Ltd. of Australia to purchase Associated British Ports Holdings PLC of the United Kingdom. Both rivals have been buying stock which has increased share price to 871.5 Pence on the London Stock Exchange.

Compass agrees to sell travel-concessions unit

Compass Group PLC of the United Kingdom is to sell its travel-concession businesses to investors for 1.8 billion Pounds ($3.4 billion). EQT Partners AB of Sweden has purchased railway and airport food concessions. Macquarie Bank of Australia has purchased the highway service stations in the United Kingdom.

Macquarie pursues deal to break into satellites
