Gov't comes down on Carlsberg ad

Article Abstract:

Labatt Breweries' ad for Carlsberg, entitled 'Knowledge,' has caused a flurry of activity in Ontario's Ministry of Consumer and Commercial Relations. Bob Runciman used the TV spot as an example of an ad linking sex with drinking. No decision has been made to revamp the guidelines under which the advertising is approved but the commission is thinking of looking into the subject. Carlsberg is not the only campaign to use sex in its advertising. Heineken's 'Premature Pour' spot also falls into the category. Advertisers believe that advertising in Canada is overregulated.
