Granada pays Euro30.6 million for 45% stake in Irish TV3

Article Abstract:

Granada Media PLC has acquired a 45% share of Irish broadcaster TV3 from CanWest Global Communications Corp. for GBP18.7 million (Euro30.6 million), thereby launching its European expansion. The station will now be owned in a joint venture controlled by Granada Media, CanWest, and the station's founders, a consortium made up of Windmill Lane Pictures Ltd.

Gazprom seeks to dilute its stake in NTV Network

Article Abstract:

OAO Gazprom, the state-dominated natural gas monopoly of Russia, is purchasing a large share of Media Most, Russia's biggest private media empire. Gazprom announced it wants to sell part of its share of NTV, the media firm's major asset, a national TV station whose coverage has long bothered the Kremlin.

Mexico's Televisa to increase its Univision stake

Article Abstract:

Grupo Televisa S.A. has reached a deal to raise its share of Univision Communications Inc. from 6% to 15%. Televisa will make a $375 equity investment for the higher share.
