Have you got an attitude problem?

Article Abstract:

The attitude of a company director towards staff can affect the employee's work performance and, ultimately, the performance of the business. A director who vents anger on an employee because of an error demotivates that employee, and possibly others, and may instigate further problems. On the other hand, a director who demonstrates a warm, enthusiastic, caring attitude should be rewarded by a smaller staff turnover and motivated employees who relate well with customers.

Are you a driver or a passenger?

Article Abstract:

It is important that directors of small and medium-sized companies carefully consider the ways in which they contribute to their company, as their actions can have a significant impact on the company's success. Directors of small companies must be aware of all aspects of the company's operations, and must take care to lead from the front. When the company begins to expand and to become profitable, it may be appropriate to take on a less prominent role.

Article Abstract:

Small companies often face difficulties when dealing with banks and governmental bureaucracy which fail to take these type of businesses seriously. Small businesses are advised to always follow through any requests when dealing with banks and to ensure that whatever agreements are made are fully maintained. If problems with government officials or agencies threaten the business, local Members of Parliament may be approached for assistance.
