High and mighty: counter-tenors

Article Abstract:

Alfred Deller led a renewal of musical interest in falsetto male singing in the 1950s. Several new recordings by modern countertenors such as Jochen Kowalski, James Bowman, Drew Minter, Dominique Visse, Gerard Lesne, Michael Chance and Rene Jacobs are briefly described.
