NTT picks four brokers after grueling competition

Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp. (NTT) will have some of its shares sold off by the Japanese government. The government is employing four brokerage companies to handle this transaction. The offering could be valued at as much as $15 billion.

Acquisition heat up in Japan

Japanese telecommunication giant NTT Corp made a public announcement of its interests to acquire Tokyo-based International Digital Communications Inc (IDC). With this announcement, NTT Corp has made known that it is ready to battle UK telecommunication company Cable and Wireless PLC with the acquisition bid of IDC. The increasing competition over IDC proves that Japan's phone market is becoming more attractive due to the loosening of government regulations.
