Airbus rescinds challenge to EU's Microsoft order

Article Abstract:

Airbus S.A.S. has expressed concern that the European Union's stance on antitrust regulations is hindering the freedom of large companies to do business in Europe. Nevertheless, the aircraft manufacturer has withdrawn its support of Microsoft Corp., a fellow multinational company facing tough antitrust regulations on its operations in Europe. Airbus's support would have been a boost to the software company's case as it prepares to make its appeal before the European Court of First Instance in Luxembourg.

Microsoft gets U.S. help in EU antitrust fight

The antitrust litigation between Microsoft Corp. and the European Commission is heating up as fines are about to be levied. The United States government has said it has "substantial concern" about the position of the European Commission in the case.
