Sticky situation: Ovens are cooling at Krispy Kreme as woes multiply

Article Abstract:

Revenue growth has slowed at Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corp., the maker of doughnuts so popular that Fortune magazine dubbed them "the hottest brand in America" in 2003. The company's problems may be the result of its franchising procedures and perhaps its saturation of the market with the establishment of too many sales outlets in too short a period of time. It has recently announced it will be sharply cutting back on its number of stores.
