Hyundai Motor Company Ltd. and an as of yet unnamed foreign partner, will bid on fellow South Korean car manufacturer Daewoo Motor Co. Hyundai has stated that it is primarily interested in Daewoo's foreign operations.

Ford's Daewoo move coincides with false-audit charges

Ford Motor Co. announced that it had pulled out of negotiations to purchase Daewoo Motor Co. of South Korea. Ford's action coincides with false-audit charges filed against 41 present and former employees of some Daewoo Group units. Daewoo Motor is one of the units.
