Sale by ICI of some businesses to Ineos expected

Imperial Chemical Industries PLC (ICI) is engaged in advanced negotiations to sell some of its operations to Ineos Group. The operations being negotiated for sale are worth approximately 300 million pounds (519.3 million euros).

Russia and U.K. sign pipeline memorandum

ICI to sell coatings businesses to PPG; Groups debt drops after $687.6 million sale

Article Abstract:

In an effort to reduce its heavy debt load, Imperial Chemical Industries has agreed to sell its automotive refinishing and industrial coatings business to PPG Industries Inc. for #425 million ($687.6) in cash. This sale and other recent divestitures are expected to reduce the company's debt to around #2.6 billion from #4.5 billion. ICI chairman, Charles Miller Smith, plans to transform the company into a specialty chemicals maker by selling most of its commodity businesses.
