Singapore Airlines' huge aircraft order boosts Boeing's position in Asian market

Article Abstract:

Observers agree that Singapore Airlines' decision to purchase 34 of Boeing Co.'s 777-200 airliners is a substantial boost for the US aerospace firm. The contract, which is valued at some $12.7 billion if options are included, is reportedly the largest order for the 777-200. Sources disclose that the contract went to Boeing because of the higher capacity and greater flexibility of its airplane.
