Individualism is the movement of the moment in Japan

Article Abstract:

Japan's long-held believe in building a life around the company is being rethought in the wake of lay-offs, salary cuts and assignments to dead-end jobs. This sense of individualism and the changing roles in the Japanese society are discussed.
