Article Abstract:
MobilCzech (Austria/Italy/Czech Republic), telecommunication consortium, plans to increase the speed of mobile communication within a licence. The consortium will install GSM technology, which allows the quick transfer of data, 64 Kbit per second initially and 128 Kbit per second later. The consortium will install nearly 900 from a total of 1,540 stations during the first year. MobilCzech's network will cover 99.9% of the Czech populatio during the second year of its operation. The firm will employ nearly 2,000 persons in 2000. It expects that the realisation of the project will bring another 20,000 jobs in connected fields of enterprise. The consortium plans to register in Ostrava, the Czech Republic. It is preparing a customer centre in Ostrava too.

Eta has a virtual shop
Article Abstract:
Eta (Hlinsko v Cechach, Czech Republic), electrical appliance manufacturer, plans to transform itself from a production firm into a production and trade firm. Eta is one of the first production firms to have commissioned a virtual shop on the Internet. The firm offers all its products line through the Internet, 38 kinds of electrical appliances in 158 variants and selected spare parts. The products will be sold cash-on-delivery with a 10% price reduction compared to common retail prices.
