Investors bet on Jakarta leader

Article Abstract:

The Jakarta Stock Exchange's composite stock index has gained 5.1% since the election of Indonesia's new president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Foreign investors are watching closely to see how the PhD-educated Yudhoyono will tackle such domestic concerns as widespread corruption, an unpredictable legal system, conflicts between regional and central governments, and restrictive labor laws.

RWE raises 3.5 billion euros in a four-part Eurobond sale

RWE AG posted earnings of 3.5 billion euros in a four-part Eurobond sale on April 6, 2001. The euro and sterling bond sale included a euro bond valued at 500 million euros, due by 2016.
