JBKB saw a loss in 2000

Article Abstract:

Jan Becher-Karlovarska Becherovka (JBKB) (Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic), liqueur producer, saw a loss of CEK 80 mil in 2000 compared to a net profit of CEK 43 mil in 1999. Reasons for the drop were a decrease in prices on the domestic market, investments in advertising and the promotion of offered spirits and the instalments of a credit for the purchase of the liqueur producer Johann Becher (Germany). JBKB's proceeds for the sales of liqueurs, spirits and soft drinks totalled CEK 1.013 bil in 2000 compared to CEK 1.024 bil in 1999.

OB Leasing saw the biggest growth in 2000

Article Abstract:

OB Leasing (Prague, Czech Republic), leasing firm, saw a net consolidated profit of CEK 273 mil in 2000. The firm arranged contracts worth CEK 12.12 bil in 2000, 47% more compared to CEK 8.14 bil in 1999. The volume of the firm's transactions increased by 61% including its subsidiary in Slovakia. A total of 20,927 leasing contracts were arranged in the Czech Republic and 6,723 leasing contracts in Slovakia in 2000.
